My Story

What was life like before training with V&B Athletic?

I enjoyed training and would be focused for a while, then would be inconsistent in my training for a time. I wasn't sticking to any particular plan and didn't have any tangible measurements of progress in place.

What have you achieved?

I took part in the 8-week transformation challenge and achieved quite good results for my first attempt. My benchmark results haven't gone backwards either.

What are some of the changes you've noticed?

The sessions will reveal that you have more in the tank than you think and you will be able to push that bit more.

What is life like now?

I am pleased to see my discipline being cemented with minimal interruptions to training despite recovering from/living with Achilles tendonitis and a short break for getting some new tattoo work!

What do you love most about training with V&B Athletic?

Every session is different so you'll never be bored, exhausted but not bored. I enjoy the camaraderie, it is one of the most important factors to me, even at the end of a round we will help the rest of our platoon members get across the line.

What's your favourite exercise?

I like hill sprints and sandbag work. One of my favourite activities is the stores carry.... yes I have a weird idea of fun!

What would you say to anyone thinking of training with V&B Athletic?

Do it! In the words of Jocko Willink:"Get after it!" Regardless if you can do one "grunt" or one hundred everyone is there to improve. The platoon will always get you through and there are exercises that everyone will find hard at one time or another so don't be worried; commit to yourself and sign up.

Anything else you’d like to share?
