What was life like before training with V&B Athletic?

Before joining V&B Athletic, I didn’t have any idea of how to train correctly to run ultramarathons and back to back marathons.

I was introduced to Jase through a mutual friend, Samantha Gash, at the end of August 2018. I had this big goal of running 50 Marathons in 50 Days from January 4th to February 22nd, in 2019, but I didn’t realise how poorly I was training for it! I would run 15-20kms every day, with no idea of the impact that was having on my body. I was doing little strength training and I wasn’t doing regular stretching and yoga.

What have you achieved?

In January 2019, I completed 50 Marathons in 50 Days.

In July 2019, I completed a 24 Hour Run running 170.2kms.

Both of those events were in honour of my friend and to support grieving families.

In May 2019, I took 1st place in the Bali Hope Ultra 2019 – 84km Ultramarathon across Bali to help put kids through school.

Most importantly, a lot more confidence & a new sense of purpose; to inspire others to be more active and to chase their dreams through my running feats.

What are some of the changes you’ve noticed?

I feel a lot happier. I never thought that running could change my life, but it has! My technique has also improved, making me a more efficient and less injury-prone runner.

Some of the other changes I’ve noticed include:

• Higher self-esteem and self-belief.
• Greater passion for life.
• Greater passion for making a difference and helping others.

What is life like now?

Life is amazing! I feel blessed for the life I live today and for the friendships I have made through ultra running. I am happy and proud to be building towards running around Australia next year to raise money and awareness for Make-A-Wish Australia.

I feel strong, focused and I believe that I can do it!
