Can I join a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness course immediately?
STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness courses are periodised to increase in complexity over a 4-week block. We have specific intake times and do not allow participants to join at any time. This is for safety and training satisfaction of the group and allows us to better plan and prepare the monthly program cycle according to group strengths and capabilites. Can I attend a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness course casually?
STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness courses have a minimum commitment of 3 x 60min sessions a week, for 4 weeks. This ensures optimal training load and results while fostering teamwork, discipline and accountability. Less or more sporadic commitment will not reap the same rewards and is disruptive to the team.
Can I train at different locations?
Due to group sizes, coach supervision and planning purposes, locations and times can not be mixed unless by prior arrangement with V&B Athletic management. Should you miss a session due to unforeseen circumstances, we do (in good faith) offer make-up classes at alternate locations within the same training month.
I’ve never exercised before, should I join a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness course?
Always seek the advice of your GP or Allied Health Professional (AHP) before embarking on any exercise program.
STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness is suited to participants of all abilities, from beginner to advanced. We won’t lie, our training is challenging but we will always ensure your exercises are suited to your current level of fitness. No matter where you start, you will see improvements in the first few weeks and will continue to do so as we continue to challenge your capacity to adapt and overcome challenges!
What should I wear to a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness session?
All new participants are issued a basic training shirt as part of their first intake payment.
Your basic training shirt is to be worn, washed and clean, at every session.
If you forget your basic training shirt additional shirts can be purchased for $20 prior to your session.
In addition to your basic training shirt, wear comfortable training attire such as running shorts, workout shorts, leggings or light tracksuit pants and running shoes (no basketball boots, skater shoes, or similar). We recommend dressing to the conditions and wearing layers that you can remove.
Do I have to wear the V&B Athletic basic training shirt?
Yes. The basic training shirt is compulsory because it forms part of the regimented philosophy that we promote at V&B Athletic. Wearing the same shirt levels the ‘playing field’ and fosters a greater sense of belonging to the team. STRONGCorps athletes are proud to wear the V&B “Green”!
What shouldn’t I wear to a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness session?
For your safety and that of your fellow participants, we do not allow any jewellery, watches, fitness trackers (including Fit-bits, Jawbones, Activity Wristbands, etc) or heart-rate monitors to be worn during a session.
If you have a specific medical condition that requires you to wear a monitoring device please inform your Coach prior to your session.
What should I bring to a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness session?
A positive can-do attitude with a readiness to work hard and push past your objectives to achieve your goals .
A water bottle with water in it.
A spare t-shirt or something dry to put on after your session.
During the colder months, something warm and dry to wear before and after the session.
A towel. Leave this in your car so that you have it for every session. In the event you get wet (see What happens if it’s raining?) you’ll need this to dry off.
What happens if it’s raining?
STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness sessions are held rain, hail, wind or shine!
What happens if the Air Quality Index rating is poor?
Prior to every session we consult the local Air Quality Index for advice and guidance on understanding the current level of air quality. Sessions are modified or relocated if required. In the case of extreme Air Quality Index ratings your session will be canceled and an alternative session time provided to you. In the event that a session is modified, relocated or cancelled under Air Quality Index advice, all participants are notified by text message.
Can I bring family or friends to a STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness session?

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
If you cancel 7 days or earlier than your course commencement date, your booking fee will be refunded to you minus credit card charges.
If you cancel within 7 days of your course commencement date, your booking fee will be refunded to you minus an administration fee and credit card charges. If another participant is able to fill your place, then your booking fee will be refunded to you minus credit card charges.
If you cancel within 24 hours or less of your course commencement date, you will receive a course credit to attend any future STRONGCorps™ course once within a 3 (three) month period.
Cancellation once your course has commenced – no refund or credit will be issued.
We encourage participants new to STRONGCorps Outdoor Group Fitness to attend a tryout session prior to enrolling so they can see if this program is suited to them. Tryout sessions can be booked here or arranged by contacting the V&B Athletic team on 0414 932019 or email@example.com.
What if I’m unable to attend a session?
Your Lead Coach must be notified by text message at least 2 hours in advance if you are unable to attend training. A lot of planning goes into every session that we design so we need to know if you are attending to ensure we’re able to make any changes necessary to suit the numbers. We do offer make-up sessions (in good faith) at alternate times within the same training month should you not be able to attend your booking it due to unforeseen circumstances.
What if I am injured?
Always inform your Coach prior to a session if you have an injury or issue that you feel may prevent you from completing certain exercises. For most injuries we will offer different variations of exercises to ensure you still get a great workout without causing further injury. We don’t allow participants to self-prescribe alternative exercises, that’s the job of your Coaches and what they are qualified to provide you.
What should I do if I feel unwell during a session?
If you experience any of these symptoms during a session, please stop exercising and notify us immediately:
Acute shortness of breath
Sharp muscle or joint pain
Dizziness or feeling faint
